CHERRY STREET, COFFEE, AND CAPTURED BEAUTY

On friday, I enjoyed coffee and some creative time with Leah and Kendall on Cherry Street. Even though the heat was horrendous, it was such a refreshing day spent with these precious women and it was such a blessing for me to get back into being creative with them.

I know what you're thinking- you're a photographer, your job is to be creative. Yes, it is.. to an extent, and a lot of the issue has been my fault. I have been more than overwhelmed by business and life lately, with a to do list longer than I can even bear to think about. Because of that, I have just shut down. I've been frozen by the amount of things that I wanted to do as a business owner, but knew that I didn't have time for. Consequently, that has also frozen the creative part of my life, and the most creative I've been lately is through posting some (hopefully cool) pictures on instagram. Honestly, that's not enough for me. I know that, and God has been trying to show that to me as well. He knows how stressed I've been, and He has blessed me with sweet friends who have unknowingly pushed me back into being creative (thanks Leah, Rae, Kendall, etc), He has given me some awesome solutions on how I can run a part-time business without beating myself up for not being able to provide the kind of service that a full-time business can, and He has presented some really amazing opportunities my way that I am incredibly stoked to be a part of (I promise I'll talk about all of this later & in more detail). Long story short, taking these pictures on Friday reignited my passion for my business. I was so burnt out on thinking about all of the things to do design, setting up my website, ordering booklets and wrapping paper and boxes and order forms and the list could go on forever. Spending a short amount of time capturing God's beauty in Leah and Kendall made me realize again that this journey as a business owner should be enjoyed and cherished, which I had so terribly lost sight of.

So, on Friday the three of us met for coffee at the Coffee House on Cherry Street (CHOCS) and caught up on life. Since Leah and I had last seen Kendall, she had planned a wedding, gotten married (a month ago today!!!), quit her job, started classes at TCC, and now she's working to build her portfolio for her own photography business! Afterwards, we took a stroll down the block from CHOCS and found this beautiful crepe myrtle and cute apartment building that made excellent backdrops for us to snap some pictures with each other.

All of the above pictures were taken by me, but the following pictures were taken by Leah! She has such a talent and I am seriously going to take advantage of it and train her to second shoot for me at weddings. Seriously though, like, I'm so in love with these pictures. The pictures of Kendall are just so fabulous, capturing her beautiful profile. Then, when I came across the ones of me, I was so thrilled. I feel so beautiful when I look at these pictures, which is such an accomplishment for any photographer.

All of these pictures were taken with my Canon 5D Mark ii, but Kendall uses (and loves) the Canon 7D. I also took some film pictures during this mini photoshoot, so I hope to post those and some of Kendall's pictures soon!

I hope everyone is enjoying their day off today! Much love, Abbey.

(EARLY) SPRING WISH LIST

Hello everyone! This week has been super busy, and I took some much needed time to do a little window shopping today of some things that I am swooning over for spring! Winter has gotten incredibly dreary here in Oklahoma, and I am more than ready for spring to take over. I've been really inspired lately, dreaming of cute apartments, spring picnics with friends, and baking sweet treats. What are you looking forward to in the coming season?

SNAPSHOTS: WINTERY WONDER

Yesterday, we got a lovely little dusting of snow, and it was beautiful. I'm the kind of girl that loves all of my seasons, but I definitely get tired of winter much faster if we don't have any snow. In Oklahoma, snow is kind of hit or miss every year, and it really felt like we weren't going to see any this season- until we got a sweet surprise yesterday!
I still get super giddy about snow, even though I don't go outside and play in it. I just love how peaceful and serene it is. Definitely one of my favorite things.
Due to this lovely snow, I had the day off from work and enjoyed a relaxing morning watching the snow fall with this sweet kitten. He was so intrigued by the snow, and I think he liked his first snow day as much as we did!
The day before, I picked up one of my favorite Panera bagels, the Cinnamon Crunch Bagel.
After taking advantage of the slow morning, I went to work on cleaning out, reorganizing, and rearranging my room- which I will share in the coming week! I hope that everyone has had a great week!
XOXO, Abbey

D+A WEDDING

I would be lying if I said that this past weekend (or even yesterday) wasn't super crazy or that it didn't feel like a whole month crammed into a few short days. But, yesterday, this chaos came to a most beautiful ending when I got a new aunt! My Uncle Darren married his gorgeous bride, Annalisa, at a historical mansion in our town, and it was such a sweet and special evening filled with their love for each other, their love for God, and the love of their families. I am so excited to share a few of the pictures that I managed to snap!

It was such a beautiful evening, and I loved all of the sweet details that they included. I am so glad to have Annalisa as a part of our little family! Hope you all had a great weekend! XOXO, Abbey
